Josh Rodriguez

Rodriguez got off to a very slow start at High-A Kinston but finished with a .262/.351/.460 line with 20 homers thanks in large part to a 10-homer barage in August. He's got a very mature approach at the plate, drawing 68 walks in just 493 at-bats, so he should be able to hold onto most of his power as he moves up the chain. He's not particularily gifted with the glove so his future home is likely at second base. He comes from a very good college program (Rice) and that coupled with his eye at the plate should give him a fairly easy transition to Double-A this season. He offers plus-power as a second baseman but doesn't have a clear-cut path to the bigs.
