Josh Ravin

Ravin couldn't have been blamed if he wanted a little time away from baseball after the year he had. Between the end of the 2015 season and his 2016 debut in August, Ravin underwent sports hernia surgery, broke his arm in a car crash, lost 20 pounds due to flu and strep throat, was suspended 80 games for PEDs he said he took to regain the weight, and nearly lost his brother to multiple gunshots. Despite all of that, the hard-throwing right-hander made his way back to the Dodgers bullpen and looked impressive in his 9.2 innings, striking out 13 and allowing a single earned run. However, that is a limited sample against a track record of high ERAs in affiliated leagues throughout his minor league career. Still, Ravin's high-90s fastball and mid-80s slider have both gotten whiffs so far, and an arsenal like that alone should make Ravin a name to know as the Dodgers sort out their bullpen for 2017.
