Celtics Host Hobbled Heat
The Boston Celtics play host to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference First-Round Playoffs at TD Garden on Sunday afternoon.

The Celtics finished the season far-and-away the top team in the East, with a whopping 14.0-game advantage over the second place team. Jayson Tatum led the way through the season, averaging 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.0 steals per game. Jaylen Brown averaged 23.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals, while Kristaps Porzingis averaged 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.9 blocks per game. The Celtics also have excellent stability in the backcourt with Derrick White and Jrue Holiday, who can each deliver on both ends of the court. Additionally, Peyton Watson, Al Horford and Sam Hauser provide solid support off the bench. The Celtics won the season series against the Heat, 3-0.

Meanwhile, the Heat finished the season with the eighth spot in the East and had to fight through the play-in to earn their shot at the first-round series. Jimmy Butler (knee) was injured in their first play-in game and after missing the last outing, is also sidelined heading into Sunday's action. On the bright side, the squad recently proved they can rally without their leader, coming up with an impressive 21-point win over the Bulls to secure the eighth seed. Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo took over in the last outing without Butler, and they will need to build off that performance to stand up against the their top-tier opponent. Herro averaged 23.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists across three meetings with the Celtics this season. Adebayo also had success against the Celtics, averaging 22.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.7 blocks over three meetings. The Heat will continue to lean on Jaime Jaquez, Nikola Jovic and Caleb Martin to step up, especially while Duncan Robinson (back) is listed as questionable for action, and Terry Rozier (neck) remains sidelined.
