Costello, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Michigan State, was able to secure a two-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Hawks after going undrafted in June and later suiting up with the team's summer league squad. The big man averaged just shy of a double-double in his senior season, but it seems rather unlikely that he'll crack the Hawks roster out of training camp. He lacks the height and size to play center at the next level and isn't as quick as most other power forwards around, which could make him somewhat of a liability on the defensive end. He'll likely need to perform better than either Kris Humphries or Mike Muscala in training camp in order to earn a roster spot.
