FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

GUARDS

Damian Lillard, POR at SAC ($9,500): Lillard has been a stud all season, but there's reason to believe he can go off against this weak Sacramento defense. He averaged 30 points, 2.5 rebounds and 11.5 assists in two games against the Kings last season. Those sort of numbers look even tastier when you consider the fact that Sacramento are allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing point guards across its last 10 games.

Devin Booker, PHX at LAL ($7,600): Since Eric Bledsoe left town, Booker has taken over this Suns team. The third-year guard I is averaging 35 fantasy points per game, while leading the team with a usage rate of 27.7. What's most enticing about Booker on this slate is his matchup, as he faces a putrid Lakers defense. In fact, they rank bottom-three in fantasy points allowed to opposing guards dating back to last season, in addition to playing at the third-fastest pace in the league.

Rajon Rondo, NOP at DEN ($4,200): This may look like a strange pick on the surface, but Rondo has proven the ability to provide monster stats in limited minutes. In fact, Rondo posted 20.4 fantasy points in 14 minutes of action in his most recent game, as he continues to rebuild his minutes after returning from hernia surgery. His minutes cap was bumped to 20-24 minutes for this matchup, and that gives Rondo plenty of time to provide value. Rondo is a fantasy-point-per minute player, which means he should provide at least 20 fantasy points in this game against a bad Denver defense. At $4,200, that's a great cash game buy, as he's the perfect sort of player to use in 50-50's and head-to-head matchups. With all that said, his upside is too limited with the minutes cap to trust for tournaments.

FORWARDS

Anthony Davis, NOP at DEN ($11,000): When a guy owns your favorite team, it's easy to remember just how good of a matchup he's looking at. When Davis faced Denver four times last season, he averaged 36.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.3 blocks per game in under 34 minutes of action. It should come as no surprise, either, considering Denver allows the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards this season.

Joe Ingles, UTA at BRK ($5,500): Ingles has been inconsistent for fantasy owners, but he should have a more consistent role in the absence of Rudy Gobert (knee). His last few weeks show just that, as he has played at least 30 minutes in nine of his last 11 games. The production has been solid, with Ingles scoring at least 26 fantasy points in nine of his 15 total games. It's the matchup that really raises Ingles stock, though, as he faces a Brooklyn defense that rank 29th in total defense and first in pace.

Wilson Chandler, DEN vs. NOP ($4,600): Chandler is coming off a 33.4-fantasy-point gem in his most recent outing, showing the sort of upside he can bring to the table. That production from a player south of $5,000 is rare, to say the least, but it's no surprise when looking at his minutes. Chandler is averaging 33.5 minutes across his last four games, which is simply too many minutes for a player priced at $4,600, especially considering Chandler averaged nearly 30 fantasy points per game over the last few seasons.

CENTERS

Hassan Whiteside, MIA at WSH ($8,800): Whiteside got off to a slow start this season due to an injury and it's dropped his price to an affordable number. Whiteside has surpassed 39 fantasy points in five of his last six games and has 53 combined rebounds across his last three games. That could continue here, as he faces a Washington team that ranks 17th in rebounding and 19th in pace.

Alex Len, PHX at LAL ($5,000): With Tyson Chandler missing this game, Len should be asked to play more minutes than usual. Len has thrived when Chandler's been out of the lineup, averaging 32.8 fantasy points in the last two games Chandler's missed. He also goes up against a Lakers team that plays quickly and is, at times, prone to defensive breakdowns.
