Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

Guards

Dejounte Murray, SAN vs. DEN ($22): Murray has been astounding since taking over starting point guard duties in San Antonio, and his price has yet to rise to where it should be. In fact, Murray has at least 25 fantasy points in five straight games since he usurped Tony Parker, and he's averaging 35.1 fantasy points per game in that span. That's absurd production from a $22 player -- plus, the Nuggets allow the third-most fantasy points to opposing point guards.

Jarrett Jack, NYK vs. BRK ($16): Jack has outplayed his price tag all season long, as his 21.4 fantasy points per game is too good for a $16 player. That doesn't even consider the first few weeks when he wasn't part of the rotation, as he's averaging 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 0.8 steals across his last 36 games. Those numbers don't exactly jump off the page, but, again, he's a $16 player, so you can't ask for too much The best part about this play is the matchup, however, as Jack faces a Brooklyn defense that allows the second-most fantasy points to opposing point guards.

Guard to Avoid:

Spencer Dinwiddie, BRK at NYK ($24): Dinwiddie has hit a bit of a wall, and his role is only going to decrease from here on with the return of D'Angelo Russell. Russell only played 21 minutes in the Nets' last game, but his workload should continue to increase incrementally until he's back up into the low-to-mid-30s on a nightly basis. Dinwiddie has scored fewer than 30 fantasy points in five straight games, while failing to surpass 22 fantasy points in four of those games.

Forwards

Markieff Morris, WSH vs. OKC ($16): Morris got off to a terrible start this season, and its lowered his price to this attractive number. He has at least 32 fantasy points in three of his last four games, and the power forward position is one of the only positions to target against OKC, as Morris will be matched up with the defensively inept Carmelo Anthony. At just $16, Morris is one of the best bets to score at least one fantasy point per dollar, which should usually be your floor goal on Yahoo!.

Reggie Bullock, DET vs. CLE ($11): The Pistons just blew up their roster by acquiring Blake Griffin and it should leave them extremely shorthanded for this game. With Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley on their way to L.A, Bullock should see a ton of minutes. Bullock is already in the midst of the best stretch of his career, and he's scored at least 29 fantasy points in each of his last two outings. The increase in role only adds to the fact that this is a supreme matchup, as Bullock faces a sluggish Cleveland defense that ranks 29th in defensive efficiency, while allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards.

Forward to Avoid

Kevin Durant, GS at UTA ($51): This may be the riskiest fade I've ever recommended, but there are several reasons to think about avoiding Durant tonight. First, Durant has scored 48 or fewer fantasy points in six of his last eight games. While that number is actually his season average, it's not enough production from a player north of $50. What adds to the fact that he's a tough pick is his matchup, as he faces a Utah team that ranks fifth in total defense. In the Warriors' last meeting with the Jazz, Durant was limited to 41 fantasy points.

Centers

Anthony Davis, NOP vs. SAC ($56): Davis is a near must-play right now with DeMarcus Cousins injured, as that's one of the biggest voids to fill in the league. Not only did Cousins rank top-five in the NBA in usage rate, he averaged 25 points, 12 rebounds and five assists per game. That's all sorts of production that can be made up from Davis, and he's already averaging 51 fantasy points a game for the season. His recent form is particularly encouraging, as he has at least 59 fantasy points in three of his last four contests. Plus, he gets a matchup Tuesday against one of the NBA's worst defenses.

Jahlil Okafor, BRK at NYK ($10): This play is not for the faint of heart, as Okafor can just as easily drop 30 fantasy points as he can throw out a complete zero. Okafor played a season-high 24 minutes and dropped 31.2 fantasy points in his last game. That's the sort of upside he can provide when the opportunity is there -- the question is, will the Nets go back to the well?

Center to Avoid

Marcin Gortat, WSH vs. OKC ($18): Gortat is in one of the worst slumps of his career right now, failing to surpass 20 fantasy points in six straight outings. He's played 20 or fewer minutes in five consecutive games and draws a difficult matchup against a stingy OKC defense.
