DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Sunday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

There are eight games in the NBA on Sunday, but only four of them make up the main slate on DraftKings. Although there aren't a lot of options to choose from as a result, consider using the players below in your lineup who have favorable matchups.

Guards

Damian Lillard, POR vs. UTA ($8,700): Lillard is coming off a spectacular performance Friday against the Kings when he scored 50 points and hit eight three-pointers. He attempted 26 shots in the game, which is no surprise considering his 29.8 percent usage rate ranks 15th in the league. He torched the Jazz for 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in their first meeting this season and is an excellent option to consider again Sunday.

Tyreke Evans, MEM at OKC ($7,400): The Grizzlies had been sitting Evans while they attempted to trade him, but ultimately failed to do so by the deadline. He is expected to return Sunday and should likely have a prominent role as it appears the Grizzlies will attempt to sign him long term. Evans' 28.5 percent usage rate ranks inside the top-20 in the league and he's priced significantly lower than he normally was before the benching, so there is an opportunity for value here for your entry.

De'Aaron Fox, SAC at MIN ($5,900): Fox injured his ankle and did not return in Monday's game against the Bulls, but he appeared to be fine Friday against the Trail Blazers, scoring 33.3 DraftKings points in 34 minutes. Fox should get plenty of playing time moving forward with George Hill now on the Cavaliers, which is good news for Sunday as he takes on a Timberwolves squad who has struggled on defense lately.

Forwards

Jimmy Butler, MIN vs. SAC ($9,800): Butler continues to lead the Timberwolves, scoring at least 54.5 DraftKings points in three straight games. He has played at least 35 minutes in nine straight contests, which is no surprise when you consider how Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau likes to ride his starters. In his first matchup against the Kings this season, Butler scored 21 points to go along with seven rebounds, nine assists, two steals and two blocks. Don't hesitate to add him to your lineup in their rematch Sunday.

Zach Randolph, SAC at MIN ($6,000): The Kings have stated they want to give their young players more minutes, but the injury to Skal Labissiere (shoulder) has stalled those plans for their frontcourt. Randolph continues to get plenty of opportunities to produce as a result, scoring at least 31.8 DraftKings points in five of the last six games that Labissiere has missed. Randolph's 27.6 percent usage rate is the highest on the Kings, making him a viable option again Sunday with Labissiere still sidelined.

Jerami Grant, OKC vs. MEM ($4,700): The Thunder have a very thin roster, but did not make any moves at the trade deadline. Grant has been one of their best players off the bench and should continue to be moving forward. He's scored at least 22.5 DraftKings points in five straight games and can provide value at this cheap price.

Centers

Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN vs. SAC ($9,000): The addition of Butler has limited Towns' value, but he has still managed to score at least 42.3 DraftKings points in six of his last eight games. Sunday brings a favorable matchup against the Kings, who allow the fifth-most DraftKings points per game (53.5) to opposing centers. He has excellent upside in this game.

Clint Capela, HOU vs. DAL ($7,700): Capela continues to put up big numbers in limited playing time. He has played more than 30 minutes only twice in his last six games, but he scored at least 40.3 DraftKings points in four of those six contests. The Mavericks don't have a lot of quality size up front and Capela has handled them so far this season, averaging 14.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.0 block in their first two meetings. His price is climbing, but it's still low enough to potentially provide value Sunday.

Dwight Powell, DAL at HOU ($5,100): Powell is finally starting to see more playing time with the Mavericks, resulting in him scoring at least 27.5 DraftKings points in four straight games. He is averaging 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds over that stretch, so expect him to continue to see an expanded role moving forward. The Rockets play at the ninth-fastest pace (100.5 possessions per game) in the league, leaving Powell with the potential for added opportunities to provide value.
