FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Guards

Quinn Cook, GS vs. NOP ($6,300): Cook has been a great fill-in for Stephen Curry, as he's reached double figures in scoring in 12 straight outings. Cook is averaging 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.0 steals across 35 minutes of action in that span. That's well over 30 fantasy points per game, and he should continue to produce against a New Orleans defense that allows the second-most fantasy points to opposing point guards for the year.

Sean Kilpatrick, CHI vs. BRK ($4,700): Kilpatrick has seen his role rise exponentially since joining the Bulls, and he's played at least 23 minutes in four straight games. The fantasy production has been there, too, as Kilpatrick is averaging 28 fantasy points per game in that span. He faces a Nets defense that allows the most fantasy points in the league to opposing guards.

Damyean Dotson, NYK vs. MIL ($3,500): It's rare to use a player because of a one-game sample, but it's time to get creative at the end of a volatile NBA season. With the Knicks well out of contention, they chose to give Dotson 35 minutes on Friday, and he responded with 30 points and 11 rebounds, both career-bests. It's no surprise he saw so much usage with the injuries New York is dealing with right now too, as they could be without Tim Hardaway Jr., Michael Beasley, Kristaps Porzingis, Emmanuel Mudiay, Lance Thomas and Enes Kanter for this matchup. Any minimum-priced player dropping 51 fantasy points is worth putting another flyer on.

Forwards

Draymond Green, GS vs. NOP ($7,800): With such limited options on this five-game slate, using a reliable player like Green is key to solidifying your lineup. His 37 fantasy points per game are incentive enough to use him, but the matchup is the icing on the cake. Not only does New Orleans allow the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards, they allow the second-most points in the NBA. That's evident by the fact that Green is averaging 37 fantasy points per game in his three meetings against the Pelicans this season.

John Henson, MIL at NYK ($5,800): There are very few usable, middle-tier options at forward on this slate, but Henson is probably the most consistent of the bunch. Henson has at least 22 fantasy points in 12 of his last 13 games, and he's scored at least 30 fantasy points five times in that stretch. The matchup against New York is appealing as well, as he faces a defense that ranks 23rd in defensive efficiency.

Joe Harris, BRK at CHI ($4,500): Harris has been starting for DeMarre Carroll over the last few games and he should be right back into the starting lineup with Carroll expected to sit again Saturday. Harris is thriving in this role, averaging 24 fantasy points per game in his last eight outings, including three games with at least 30 fantasy points. In addition, Chicago allows the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing small forwards, while ranking 22nd in defensive efficiency.

Centers

Jarrett Allen, BRK at CHI ($5,200): This is one of the toughest slates for centers all season long, but Allen is one of the only options with a quality matchup. The three highest-priced centers play the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, which are arguably three of the five toughest defenses in the league. Then comes Allen, who faces a Chicago defense that allows the second-most fantasy points to opposing centers. Allen has been solid of late, scoring at least 24 fantasy points in six of his last eight games. Not to mention, Allen dropped 40 fantasy points in just 23 minutes of action the one time he played Chicago back on February 26.

Pau Gasol, SAN vs. POR ($4,600): Gasol has been tough to gauge because of his role, but his 27 fantasy points per game for the year are enough to indicate he's a nice value at just $4,600. That already means he's exceeding 6X value with his averages -- plus, he's coming off a 32-fantasy point gem in his most recent game. Gasol might be one of the riskiest options on the slate, but he's a bit less risky when considering the difficult matchups in front of several of the slate's higher-priced options.
