Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Guards

Damian Lillard, POR vs. NOP ($43): Even though Lillard went just 6-of-23 from the field in an ugly Game 1 loss, he still collected 43 fantasy points in what's become a common trend for him. Lillard has at least 34 fantasy points in 22 of his last 23 games, and he's approaching 50 fantasy points per game in that span. Even with a relative dud in Game 1, Lillard is averaging 53 fantasy points per game in his last four matchups against the Pelicans.

Jrue Holiday, NOP at POR ($37): Holiday has been special since DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) went down, and he's raised his season average to 38 fantasy points per game. In addition, Holiday has at least 34 fantasy points in 10 of his last 11 games, and he ranks second on this team in usage. He's had success against the Trail Blazers all season, too, averaging 41 fantasy points per game in five meetings.

Guard to Avoid

Tomas Satoransky, WSH at TOR ($15): Savvy fantasy players know that Satoransky shouldn't be used, but there are still people out there who will look at his numbers and use him at this bloated price. Since John Wall returned, Satoransky has fallen off a cliff, as he hasn't scored more than 22 fantasy points in any game that Wall has played since his return. The first playoff game paints an even darker picture, as he scored just 2.5 fantasy points in 12 minutes played.

Forwards

Al Horford, BOS vs. MIL ($30): Horford was in a terrible slump after the All-star Break, but his recent form indicates that he's out of it now. Not only did he drop 58.4 fantasy points in his opening playoff game, but Horford is now averaging 37 fantasy points per game in his last eight outings. He's destroyed the Bucks this season, putting up more than 44 fantasy points per game in five previous matchups.

Evan Turner, POR, vs. NOP ($11): Turner is not exciting by any means, but he's too valuable to be priced as a near-minimum-priced player. Not only is he playing over 30 minutes a game in his last four outings, but Turner is averaging 23 fantasy points per game in that span. That's all you can ask for from an $11 player, as he faces a Pelicans team that ranks 29th in total defense. Turner posted a 25.2 percent usage rate in that opening game, which ranked first among starters and second only to Shabazz Napier.

Forward to Avoid

Otto Porter, WSH at TOR ($25): Porter just hasn't been the same player since John Wall returned. He ranked dead-last on the team in terms of usage rate in the Wizards' opening playoff game, providing sub-optimal value from a $25 player. He's only surpassed 22 fantasy points once in his last seven games. That looks even worse when you consider the fact that Toronto allows the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing small forwards this season.

Centers

Anthony Davis, NOP at POR ($58): Davis is averaging nearly 60 fantasy points per game since DeMarcus Cousins went down, and he's scored at least 52 fantasy points in 13 of his last 14 games. That means his absurd price is meaningless, as he's averaging 12 more fantasy points than the third-highest-priced player and 18 more than the fifth-highest-priced player. Not to mention, Davis is averaging 67 fantasy points per game in his last three games against the Trail Blazers.

John Henson, MIL at BOS ($16): Henson has been quietly reliable for the Bucks this season, as he's averaging over 24 fantasy points per game. That means he should be closer to $20, if not higher, as he's in one of his best stretches of the season. Henson is averaging 27 fantasy points per game in his last 16 games, and he dropped 31 fantasy points in Game 1.

Center to Avoid

Jonas Valanciunas, TOR vs. WSH ($20): Valanciunas has been infuriating for fantasy owners this season, as he's one of the most inconsistent centers in the league. His upside has been extremely limited recently, having failed to surpass 34 fantasy points in 13 straight games. The fact that he played less than 23 minutes in the opening playoff game is concerning, as well, as he hasn't played more than 25 minutes in 14 consecutive games.
