Yahoo DFS Basketball: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Guards

Rajon Rondo, NOP at GS ($31): Playoff Rondo has been one of the sensations of this postseason, and he's looking like the Rondo that once helped the Celtics win a title. Rondo has at least 36 fantasy points in five straight games, and he's averaging 42 fantasy points per game in that span. Rondo has had success against the Warriors all season, putting up 41 fantasy points per game in his last three outings against them.

George Hill, CLE at TOR ($10): Hill returned from a back injury to make a huge impact in Game 7 against the Pacers, as he dropped 25 fantasy points off the bench in that win. That's indicative of his regular season form with the Cavaliers, as Hill averaged 20 fantasy points per game in 28 minutes of action. His recent injury is what's kept his price so low, but if he can stay healthy throughout Round 2, Hill should be in line for increased minutes, whether he's starting or coming off the bench.

Guard to Avoid

Stephen Curry, GS vs. NOP ($40): This might be the only time I ever recommend to fade Curry, but he's way too risky in this circumstance. The fact that he's missed nearly two months of action means that he'll have some rust to shake off, even if he's been participating in recent practices. The expectation is that Curry will not have an established minutes restriction, but the Warriors have no reason not to exercise some degree of caution, and $40 is a high price to pay for any player coming off of a multi-week absence.

Forwards

LeBron James, CLE at TOR ($58): Not only did he average 62 fantasy points per game in the Indiana series, but James averaged close to that total over the entire second half of the season. He's been unstoppable as the unquestioned hub of the Cavs' offense, and even with only a day of rest after Sunday's Game 7 victory, it's hard to imagine James slowing down against a team he's owned in recent history.
Draymond Green, GS vs. NOP ($30): Green posted a monster triple-double in the Warriors' Game 1 blowout, throwing up 62.5 fantasy points in that win and backing up the fact that he averaged over 41 fantasy points per game in three meetings with the Pelicans during the regular season.

Forward to Avoid

Nikola Mirotic, NOP at GS ($33): Mirotic went bonkers in the series against the Trail Blazers, but things will be much more difficult against this potent Warriors bunch. His 22 fantasy points in Game 1 were more indicative of the Mirotic we saw in the regular season, as he struggled to get on track against the length and physicality Golden State offers on the defensive end.

Centers

Kevin Love, CLE at TOR ($21): Love really struggled against the Pacers in the last series, but it's lowered his price to this very palatable $21 figure. Toronto struggled with opposing centers throughout the regular season, allowing the 10th-most fantasy points to the position in the regular season. Love, himself, averaged 43 fantasy points in his last two games against the Raptors, both of which were Cavaliers wins.

Tristan Thompson, CLE at TOR ($11): Thompson came out of nowhere to record a double-double in the critical Game 7 win over Indiana, and he may have catapulted himself back into starting duties. While his role is still unclear, it would be hard to imagine Cleveland straying away from something that worked so well in a must-win game. Thompson is a relatively low-ceiling player, but that comes with the territory when dealing with an $11 player.

Center to Avoid

Anthony Davis, NOP at GS ($58): What really compels me t fade Davis is the fact that Golden State allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to centers this season. Davis is still a great bet to exceed 40 fantasy points, but when you pay $58 for a player, that means you need a monster night to return top value, and in Game 1, the Warriors' defense looked more than prepared to handle the Pelicans' wrecking ball in the paint.
