Key will transfer to Virginia, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reports.

Key saw his role diminish a bit in his sophomore campaign with Alabama, finishing the season with averages of 7.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steal across 25.2 minutes. That prompted the 6-foot-8 forward to transfer and he's now selected defensive powerhouse Virginia as his next destination. It's a fantastic pickup for the Cavaliers, though Key will have to sit out the 2018-19 season due to the current NCAA transfer rules. Follow the year off, Key will have two years of eligibility remaining.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Key is transferring to another program, Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News reports.

Key was highly productive as a freshman in 2016-17 with 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds over 30 starts. His role diminished this past season as his starts were nearly cut in half down to 17 and he put up just 7.0 points per game. He will have two years of eligibility once he sits out the 2018-19 season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Key scored 11 points (5-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and grabbed eight rebounds in the loss to Florida on Tuesday.

Key has scored in double digits in his last three games, but the Crimson Tide have lost four in a row. The 6-8 sophomore has been starting but has not played more than 26 minutes. Alabama heads to Texas A&M for the regular season finale. Key had two points in the Dec. 30 win over the Aggies.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Key is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Mississippi State, Charlie Potter of BamaOnline reports.

Alabama left Key out of the starting lineup Saturday but he still played a productive 34 minutes, scoring 13 points and nabbing five rebounds. It'll be interesting to see whether Key settles into a role as an offensive sparkplug off the bench or if he ultimately works his way back into being part of the starting unit. Daniel Giddens will start at power forward against the Bulldogs.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Key scored a season-high 16 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT) with five rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the win over Mississippi State on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide were able to win without Collin Sexton (abdomen) for the second straight game and have now won four in a row. Key had not scored more than nine points and had only hit one 3-pointer prior to Saturday. After averaging 12.0 points as a freshman, Key is just finding his way after missing the first 10 games with a knee injury.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Key (knee) made his season debut but did not score (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) in 20 minutes in the win over Mercer on Tuesday. He had four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Key started, but let his young teammates do the shooting. The 6-8 sophomore averaged 12.0 points last season and will have to ramp up after missing the first 11 games of the season. Key will need to play big on Friday against Texas.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Key (knee) will play in Tuesday's game against Mercer, Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports reports.

As expected, Key will make his long-awaited season debut Tuesday after suffering a knee injury in the preseason. Key was Alabama's leading scorer last season, and while Avery Johnson will likely ease the forward back into the rotation, he's ultimately expected to serve as a top contributor for the Crimson Tide.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Key (knee) is expected to play in Tuesday's matchup against Mercer.

While Key has yet to see the court this season, its likely he'll finally make his return after suffering a knee injury during the preseason. All signs point towards playing against Mercer, however, it depends on how he responds following Monday's practice. Key led the Crimson Tide in scoring last season, averaging 12.0 points per game.
