Vanderbilt will sign with an agent and remain in the 2018 NBA Draft, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Vanderbilt was injured for much of the year, playing just a 14-game stretch from mid-January through the start of March. He averaged 5.9 points 7.9 rebounds and 1.0 assist across 17.0 minutes during those contests and while that's nothing spectacular, Vanderbilt feels comfortable betting on himself. With plenty of athleticism, the 6-foot-9 forward could garner a selection due to his potential upside.

Vanderbilt declared for the NBA Draft but will not hire an agent.

He can return to Kentucky if he withdraws his name from the draft by May 30, which allows him enough time to get the proper feedback on where his draft stock lies. Vanderbilt was hampered by a foot injury for the early portion of the season but showed his potential in SEC play. He averaged 6.9 points and 8.1 rebounds over 18.9 minutes against conference opponents and has the athleticism to make it at the next level.

Vanderbilt (ankle) will not play Thursday against Kansas State in the Sweet 16, Joe Mussatto of SEC Country reports.

Kentucky will continue to press on without one of its more talented freshmen as Vanderbilt will sit again with an ankle injury. Kevin Knox stands to play heavy minutes on the wing against Kansas State and Vanderbilt's next chance to return would come Saturday should Kentucky advance.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Vanderbilt (ankle) remains day-to-day ahead of Thursday's Sweet 16 matchup with Kansas State, Joe Mussatto of SECcountry.com reports. In regards to his availability for Thursday, Vanderbilt said he's "hoping for the best."

According to Vanderbilt, he's been able to do a little bit in practices. "Not necessarily full speed, but I'm trying to do what I can right now," Vanderbilt said in regards to his practice availability. While he hopes to take the court Thursday, his comments don't necessarily provide a ton of optimism overall, though we likely won't know for sure until closer to Thursday's tip-off. Vanderbilt also admitted that if he were to be cleared, he likely wouldn't play a ton. "Probably not much," Vanderbilt said about his potential playing time. "I probably wouldn't have too many minutes. The guys have been playing well in my absence. I think regardless we're still gonna play good." For now, continue to monitor his status and even if he does play, Vanderbilt shouldn't be expected to see significant minutes in his first game back.

Head coach John Calipari was noncommittal when asked about Vanderbilt's (ankle) status for Thursday's game against Kansas State. "We'll see," the coach said.

Vanderbilt missed Kentucky's first two games of the NCAA Tournament due to a sprained ankle. While he was hoping to return for the second weekend of the tournament, it appears the issue is still bothering him a little bit, leaving his status for the team's upcoming Sweet Sixteen game up in the air. Vanderbilt's status will be something to monitor over the next few days, though things may not clear up until closer to tipoff.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Vanderbilt (ankle) indicated Wednesday that he's about 70 percent healthy and that he's hoping to play in the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament if Kentucky makes it that far, Kyle Tucker of SECcountry.com reports.

Coach John Calipari indicated earlier this week that Vanderbilt was unlikely to play during the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament, so this all but confirms that he'll miss the Wildcats' upcoming two games. Official word on that should come at some point prior to Thursday's tilt with Davidson, but as of now, continue to expect Kentucky to make a run without Vanderbilt. The fact that he claims he's only 70 percent is concerning and it appears Vanderbilt isn't even entirely sure he'd be able to play the second weekend either if the Wildcats continue to win. That said, his status will still be one to monitor closely over the next week.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Coach John Calipari said Vanderbilt (ankle) is unlikely to play during the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament, Kyle Tucker of SECCountry.com reports. "He wants to play but I just don't see it right now, putting him in there and being comfortable about it," Calipari said.

Vanderbilt missed Kentucky's SEC Tournament run due to a sprained ankle, and it appears he's still recovering from the issue. While Calipari hasn't ruled Vanderbilt out for Thursday's first round matchup against Davidson, the coach noted he wouldn't play the freshman if he isn't 100 percent. It will be a tough blow for the Wildcats if Vanderbilt is unable to play until the second weekend, as he's leading the team with 7.9 rebounds per game this season despite averaging just 17 minutes.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Vanderbilt (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's SEC Championship against Tennessee, SEC Country's Kyle Tucker reports.

Vanderbilt will miss his third consecutive contest due to an ankle injury, which he suffered in practice prior to the SEC tournament. The Wildcats hope Vanderbilt will be able to return for the NCAA Tournament, as the small forward has been productive on the glass with at least nine rebounds in five of his last six games played.
