Bowen signed a professional contract Tuesday with the Sydney Kings of the Australian National Basketball League, Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bowen, a prominent recruit from the Class of 2017, never played a minute at either Louisville or South Carolina after the NCAA suspended him following an FBI investigation that accused his family of accepting $100,000 from Adidas. He later declared and withdrew from the 2018 NBA Draft to retain his collegiate eligibility, but it was never expected that he would suit up at the NCAA level after he was ruled ineligible for a second consecutive year in 2018-19. Bowen will now look to begin his pro career overseas, with the hope that a strong showing in Australia will allow him to generate interest from NBA teams ahead of the 2019 draft.
