Reinstated by Duke
Duke head coach David Cutcliffe announced Wednesday that Parker has been reinstated to the football team after fulfilling the requirements of his academic suspension, Steve Wiseman of the Charlotte News & Observer reports.

Parker was suspended for the spring semester following an academic policy violation in the fall, but he's since taken the proper steps to regain the trust of Cutcliffe and the coaching staff. The incoming junior, who served as Duke's kicker and punter last season, re-enrolled at the school for summer classes and is expected to enter the 2018 campaign in good academic standing. Parker's temporary dismissal from the program resulted in him missing out on Duke's 36-14 win over Northern Illinois in the Quick Lane Bowl on Dec. 26, but he should reclaim his starting roles at kicker and punter from senior walk-on Collin Wareham and redshirt freshman Jackson Hubbard, respectively. Parker converted 17 of 21 field-goal tries and 33 of 35 extra-point attempts and averaged 42.1 yards per punt in 2017.
