Takes step back
December 5, 2017
Webb finished the season with 831 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, while hauling in 13 receptions for 188 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Webb posted 1,000-plus yard seasons in both 2015 and 2016, but was unable to do so this year. He averaged 4.3 yards per carry, which was also down from a season ago (5.1 in 2016). Although the senior back would've liked to go out on a higher note, he experienced success at Vanderbilt, rushing for 4,178 yards and 32 touchdowns in four years.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2016
Webb has been continuously overlooked throughout his time at Vanderbilt, largely due to the Commodores' poor record during his tenure. Webb had his best season at Vandy as a junior in 2016, notching his second-straight 1,000-yard season while rushing for a career-high 12 touchdowns on the ground. He had seven games with 100 rushing yards or more, and ended the year with a bang. Webb rushed for 348 yards and six touchdowns in the final three contests of the 2016 campaign, including the Liberty Bowl against NC State. While Webb remains the starter for the Commodores, he will have to be aware of the presence of converted linebacker Khari Blasingame, a redshirt junior. Expect Blasingame to get his fair share of touches, which could stunt Webb's numbers a bit during his final season at Vanderbilt.
As the low man on the Totem Poll in the SEC, Vanderbilt usually doesn’t garner a ton of national attention. However, Webb is the type of player that should not be ignored. Webb isn’t the most explosive back out there (4.16 YPC on 277 carries), but he’s a dependable back entering his junior season having just finished seventh in the conference in rushing yardage with 1,152. It’s been clear since Webb’s freshman year that he’s the workhorse of the offense. He has 489 total carries through his first two seasons and he’s a safe bet to approach the 250-carry benchmark again this season, especially considering the lack of depth and experience around him at the running back position. For example, Vanderbilt’s second-leading rusher last season, not counting quarterback Johnny McCrary, was Darrius Sims’ 43 carries for 250 yards -- and he’s technically a receiver. Webb doesn’t really have any true challengers for carries coming into this year, and with Vanderbilt still breaking in its quarterback of the future, he should be one of the most heavily-used backs in the nation in 2016.
