Thompson is the top returning wideout in the Sun Belt in terms of production after hauling in a conference-best 80 receptions for 820 yards and six touchdowns in 2016. His ability to go up in traffic and make contested catches separated him from the pack last season as he routinely beat Sun Belt corners on 50/50 balls. Thompson (6-1, 201) is the clear favorite target for quarterback Brandon Silvers after seeing a whopping 117 passes thrown his way last season. Deondre Douglas' ascension on the other side of the field could slightly cut into Thompson's target volume, but Thompson should still command triple-digit targets as Troy's No.1 wideout.
