Ragland took a bit of a step back last season after showing major promise in 2016. His completion percentage dropped nearly 10 points, his yards-per-attempt dropped a full yard and he was more turnover prone overall. Is 2018's Ragland more the 2016 vintage that led Miami on a six-game winning streak to end the season, or is last year's disappointing campaign a more realistic baseline of expectation? The optimist would note that Ragland is entering his third year as the starter and add that he has one of the MAC's most dangerous receivers in James Gardner. The pessimist would argue that Ragland's 2016 showing was more a case of catching lightning in a bottle than a pure display of his talent.
