Leaving Miami (OH)
Williamson entered the NCAA's transfer portal during the offseason and won't return to Miami (Ohio) for the 2020 season, Mark Schmetzer of the Butler County Journal-News reports.
ANALYSIS
Williamson was the frontrunner for the RedHawks' starting quarterback job heading into fall camp but ultimately lost out on the gig to Brett Gabbert. With the freshman thriving in the starting role, Williamson worked exclusively as a backup in 2020, completing eight of 19 attempts for 84 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 35 yards on 12 carries. A rising redshirt junior, Williamson will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop, though he may have to sit out the 2020 campaign if he signs with another FBS school.
