Jones officially retired from the NFL on Friday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones' most recent NFL action came in the form of seven games with the Broncos, where he logged nine tackles and an interception before being let go after Week 11. "Pacman" will -- of course -- be most remembered for his time with the Bengals. Jones started in 68 of 100 games and racked up 366 total tackles, 12 interceptions and 64 pass breakups. The 14-year-pro's career will likely also remind fans of his problems off the field, including the most recent incident where Jones was arrested for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, intimidation and resisting arrest at a casino in Indiana in late February.

Entering his 11th season, Jones continues to get better with age, as he recorded a career-high 66 tackles to go along with seven pass defensed and one interception. At 33, the Bengals are clearly prepared to address a reality where Jones finally slows down in 2017 as they drafted Brandon Wilson and signed veteran Bene Benwikere.
Jones inked a three-year extension with the Bengals this offseason, assuring the outspoken veteran won't be going anywhere after having one of the best seasons of his career in 2015. He totaled 62 tackles, 12 pass defenses and three interceptions in 14 games last season. He also totaled 179 yards on 16 punt returns combined with 10 kickoff returns for 235 yards. Jones will be 33 in late September, but seems to be getting better with age. Between his coverage and return skills, Jones warrants fantasy consideration in IDP leagues.
Jones enjoyed his best campaign since 2006 last season, totaling 56 tackles (44 solo) and three interceptions, including one touchdown return. He enters this season as one of the Bengals' top cornerbacks and could see significant playing time even with Leon Hall returning from injury and Darqueze Dennard being Cincinnati's first round selection.
Jones will have the opportunity to be the Bengals' nickel back this season after posting 40 tackles (33 solo) last season. He also is involved in the return game.
Jones will likely serve as the Bengals' fourth or fifth cornerback this season, but has the athletic ability to make a difference when on the field, although not enough to warrant fantasy consideration.
His offseason troubles are well known, but people may have forgot just how good Jones can be when he actually lines up between the sidelines. Jones isn't guaranteed a starting spot with the Cowboys, but he is the second most talented corner they have behind Terrance Newman. If he avoids another suspension, expect the ex-Pacman to hold great IDP value.
Pacman took some time to come around last season, but by the end of the year, he showed some development, and could be poised for a better campaign in 2006. His return abilities (he will return kicks and may field punts, as well) and his occasional use on offense make nice bonuses in IDP leagues, and his playmaking ability makes him a threat to go the distance if he can get his hands on the ball. His coverage was suspect at times (many times, in fact) and he muffed more than a few tackles last season, so he isn't a top shelf pick yet, but he should improve this season.
Top-ranked rookie corners can often be good fantasy bets because quarterbacks will test them often. Being drafted so high, they’ve likely been picked by a team that will start them from the get go and line them up against the opposing team’s best receiver. Such is the case with Jones, who’ll man one of the cornerback spots vacated by departing free agents Samari Rolle and Andre Dyson. Also, these young corners are at the height of their athletic ability and have little wear and tear on their legs. Jones fits the bill here to a tee and has shown excellent big-play ability in school. Not the tallest player at 5-9, he has superior closing speed and vertical leap and is just as good in run support as he is in mid-air.
