2023 Fantasy Outlook
Jordan has been the heart and soul of New Orleans' defense ever since the beginning of this unit's turnaround in 2017. The 12-year veteran has tallied double-digit sacks in four of the last six seasons, and he just missed the first two games of his career over the past two regular seasons. After securing an 8.5-sack season in 2022, along with a new two-year, $27.5 million extension this offseason, Jordan will continue serving as the Saints' top pass rusher in 2023. Read Past Outlooks

Recovering from ankle surgery
Jordan is recovering from offseason surgery undergone to address an ankle injury that hampered him during the 2023 campaign, Matthew Paras of NOLA.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jordan suffered the ankle injury in mid-November, and while he didn't subsequently miss any games, his defensive snap share did notably diminish down the stretch. The 13-year veteran has missed only two regular-season games in his NFL career, so recovering from an ankle procedure doesn't add any true concerns about his durability. Jordan has stated that he desires to suit up for the 2024 season, and with better injury luck, he could be set for a bounceback after finishing out 2023 with just two sacks across 17 games.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
No plans to retire
Jordan intends to play in 2024, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. "I love the Saints too much to retire," Jordan said Monday.
ANALYSIS
The 34-year-old pass rusher played all 17 games in 2023 but managed only two sacks, his lowest total since he was a rookie in 2011. Jordan said his ankle was bothering him all season, however, suggesting an offseason of rest or perhaps surgery might be able to spark a rebound in his production. He has two more years remaining on his current contract set to pay him a guaranteed $25.5 million.

Jordan will have to fall off eventually, and unfortunately there will be no clear notice before it
happens, especially given that he still looked spry at 32 years old in 2021. Washed up players
don’t post 12.5 sacks on 794 snaps, especially when they see as much blocking attention as
Jordan tends to get. If he’s still the Jordan we know then a similar box score could await him in
2022.
