DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs. BOS ($7,800): Both Vegas and the RotoWire NHL Lineup Optimizer like Winnipeg and Hellebuyck on Tuesday. Seven of Boston's past eight games have been on the road, and the Bruins are still dealing with a number of injuries. It's also tough to overlook Hellebuyck's 27-5-2 record, .920 save percentage and 2.34 GAA at the Bell MTS Place this season. There's potential he carries a low ownership percentage, too.

CENTER

John Tavares, NYI at OTT ($7,200): With Erik Karlsson's (personal) status up in the air, this sets up as a potentially soft matchup for Tavares and the Islanders. The 27-year-old center has marked the scoresheet in eight of his past 11 contests for three tallies, 11 helpers and 43 shots, and the Sens have lost five straight with 24 goals allowed during the skid. This is also Ottawa's third game in four nights.

Nico Hischier, NJD vs. CAR ($4,800): The rookie is finding an offensive groove again with five goals, three assists and 25 shots through his past eight games. Carolina is playing its second game in consecutive nights, and could be starting Scott Darling (.885 save percentage and 3.19 GAA for the campaign). Additionally, Hischier has combined with linemate Taylor Hall for a rock-solid 4.3 goals per 60 minutes this season.

WING

Phil Kessel, PIT at DET ($7,100): The Red Wings are playing their third game in four nights and have a single win in their past 14 contests, so this should be a favorable matchup for Kessel. The veteran winger sports a five-game point streak and has recorded four goals, 11 assists and 29 shots through 12 contests in March.

Corey Perry, ANA at VAN ($5,900): Scoring at a point-per-game pace through his past 13 contests with five tallies and eight helpers, Perry is a strong lean against the struggling Canucks. Vancouver is 3-9-2 with 3.27 goals allowed per hour since the All-Star break. Additionally, Perry has combined with linemates Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell for a promising 4.347 goals and 16.87 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes this season.

Ty Rattie, EDM vs, CLM ($5,300): Skating with Connor McDavid has provided a tremendous fantasy boost for Rattie. The 26-year-old winger has collected four goals, three assists and 12 shots through six games on Edmonton's top line, and with McDavid chasing down a second consecutive Art Ross Trophy, Rattie projects to continue enjoying the ride. There's also potential Seth Jones (ribs) plays at less than 100 percent for the Blue Jackets.

DEFENSE

Nick Leddy, NYI at OTT ($4,600): With just a single assist through his past seven games, this is a prime spot for Leddy to kick his offensive funk. The 27-year-old defenseman still owns a respectable 1.43 points per 60 minutes. As noted, this sets up as a soft matchup against the Sens, and Leddy's role quarterbacking the No. 1 power-play unit adds to his value.

Thomas Chabot, OTT vs. NYI ($3,900): While Chabot's upside skyrockets if Erik Karlsson (personal) is out of the lineup, the rookie is still a target-worthy source of cap relief. The Islanders are surrendering 3.79 goals and 13.19 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes since the All-Star break, and Chabot has stepped into an increased offensive role of late. He's also collected two points, five shots and five blocked shots through his past three outings.
