Yahoo DFS Hockey: Tuesday Picks

Yahoo DFS Hockey: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Hockey series.

Take the time to scroll down and search through the entire player pool Tuesday. There are some values screaming to be rostered and typically, the Yahoo pricing is challenging. With that said, here are some players to target and fade from the 12 games on the NHL slate.

GOALIE

Devan Dubnyk, MIN vs. LOS ($34): The Kings enter with just three goals through two games to start the season, and Dubnyk owns a .924 save percentage since joining the Wild. This is a high-end matchup in which the depth and balance of the Minnesota lineup should be able to handle the top-heavy Kings.

GOALIE TO AVOID

Corey Crawford, CHI vs. PHI ($37): No one should expect Crawford or the Blackhawks to fall off the map, but the slow decline is already underway. Chicago has allowed 11 goals through the first three games of the season, and Crawford has lost both his starts and owns an .898 save percentage. Philadelphia has also shown some offensive upside with seven goals through two games to start the campaign.

CENTER

Evgeny Kuznetsov, WAS vs. COL ($18): For whatever reason, Kuznetsov and Alex Ovechkin haven't clicked to start the season, but the duo remains intact heading into Tuesday's game. It'll jive sooner than later, and Kuznetsov is also averaging 3:05 per night with the man advantage to start the campaign. This is a cushy matchup, too. Colorado enters on the wrong end of back-to-back road games and has allowed eight goals through its first two games.

CENTER TO AVOID

Anze Kopitar, LOS at MIN ($22): While the star pivot has a helper in each of the first two games of the season, he also has just three shots on net, and the Kings have scored only three goals through two games. Having Tyler Toffoli alongside him is encouraging, but Dwight King on the other flank has the potential to spoil the entire line. Expect to be underwhelmed with Kopitar given the price of admission.

WING

Alexander Radulov, MON vs. PIT ($12): This price isn't reflective of Radulov's talent or play through two games. He owns a 60.9 CorsiFor percentage and is averaging 18:04 of ice time per game. Pittsburgh enters on the second leg of back-to-back games with backup Mike Condon between the pipes. At a contest-low salary, Radulov is a strong option Tuesday.

Teuvo Teravainen, CAR at EDM ($12): Another winger at minimum price, Teravainen scored his first goal of the season Sunday and continues to skate on an intriguing line with Elias Lindholm and Sebastian Aho. Edmonton has also allowed 13 goals through three games to start the season.

WINGERS TO AVOID

Corey Perry, ANA at NJD ($25): The Ducks are playing their fourth road game in six nights to start the season and are currently sitting at 0-3. Perry has also been slow out of the gate with just one goal on nine shots. New Jersey typically plays low-event games, which could limit the opportunities for Perry to score. He's a proven star, so a huge game isn't out of the question, but paying up for one is an entirely different story.

Daniel Sedin, VAN vs. STL ($24): The price is too steep for Sedin in a daunting matchup. St. Louis has allowed just six goals through its first three games after posting a fourth-fewest 2.40 per game last year. Additionally, the lack of a supporting cast in the Vancouver lineup should make it easy for the Blues to key on shutting down Sedin and linemates Henrik Sedin and Loui Eriksson.

DEFENSE

Justin Faulk, CAR at EDM ($14): There is a slight plus/minus risk here, but Faulk's egregious price trumps the downside. He has a goal and two helpers through his first two games of the season and moves the needle in the shots and blocked shots columns. Edmonton, as noted, has allowed a generous 13 goals through three games to start the campaign.

Dmitry Orlov, WAS vs. COL ($12): Promoted into top-four duty to start the year, Orlov is coming off a solid 29-point season and carries a contest-minimum salary. He has also averaged 2:23 of power play time with the No. 2 unit. In a nice matchup against Colorado (eight goals allowed through two games), Orlov is an excellent source of cap relief.

DEFENSEMEN TO AVOID

P.K. Subban, NAS vs. DAL ($26): It's been a nice start to the season for Subban with the Predators. He has found the score sheet in each outing with six penalty minutes, six shots on goal and five blocked shots. However, he's also owns a minus-2 rating and isn't skating on the No. 1 power play unit. Dallas brings a high-octane offense, which increases the range of potential outcomes for Subban. At this salary, he might be a little too untrustworthy to spend up for.

Francois Beauchemin, COL at WAS ($19): Last season, Washington averaged an impressive 3.1 goals per home game with a stingy 2.27 against. The 36-year-old Beauchemin will be playing his second road game in as many nights and has a disastrous fantasy floor in this matchup.
