Bengtsson is lacking in the way of offensive ability, but he plays a steady game, has good size and excels in his own zone. He is another player who is years away from seeing NHL duty.

Bengtsson was drafted 59th overall by the Panthers in the 2011 NHL Draft, and probably won't see professional action this season. He recorded 24 assists and a minus-2 rating in 49 games with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL in 2012-13, and he'll likely play there again in 2013-14 since he's still just 20 years old.

Bengtsson is a solid puck moving defenseman projected to be a very good power play quarterback. Blessed with good on-ice vision and a decent all-around game, Bengtsson will make the jump to the USHL this season after spending the last several in Sweden. The Panthers' second-round pick in the 2011 draft is a solid long-term keeper option.
