FantasyDraft NHL: Thursday Value Plays

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

There are 12 games on the schedule, which means there are an abundance of options for your daily fantasy lineup. Here are some players to consider in your search for value…

GOALIE

Boston Bruins, BOS vs. OTT ($16,100): The Bruins are heading into the playoffs at the top of their game. They've won six in a row while the Senators are 3-4-3 in their last 10. Boston has also only allowed 26.7 shots on net per game, which is a big reason why Tuukka Rask has a 2.27 GAA. Furthermore, Rask has been particularly stellar recently with 0.75 GAA and a .972 save percentage over his last four games.

CENTER

Ryan Johansen, NAS at DAL ($12,100): Johansen has been one of the best playmakers in the NHL this season, as he's notched 47 assists in 80 games. He's also been quite impressive with the extra man, picking up 23 power-play points. The Stars have the worst penalty kill in the NHL, so a power-play producer like Johansen can definitely take advantage of this matchup. Johansen also has six points in his last seven games, including three power-play points, so he's playing quite well as the season comes to a close.

Jake Guentzel, PIT at NJD ($11,600): Guentzel is skating on the wing of Pittsburgh's top line next to Sidney Crosby. That's always good for a player's fantasy potential, and he's been stellar recently with seven goals and seven assists in his last 12 games. The Devils have allowed an average of 2.86 goals and 31.5 shots on net per game, so don't expect New Jersey to be the one to slow Guentzel down.

WING

Zach Parise, MIN at COL ($12,600): Parise has tallied 10 points (and 25 shots on goal) in his last 10 games. Overall, he's registered 191 shots on goal in 67 games, and has added 12 power-play points as well. The Avalanche, meanwhile, have been a disaster all season. Colorado has allowed a league-high 3.37 goals per game. On top of that, the Avalanche have the 29th-ranked penalty kill.

Ondrej Palat, TAM at TOR ($11,400): Palat has been on an absolute tear since the beginning of March. In 18 games, he's tallied 19 points and 54 shots on goal. He's also averaged 3:17 per game on the power play in that time. While Toronto had a good March in terms of goal prevention, it has allowed 2.84 goals per game overall this season, as well as 32.8 shots, so Palat should have ample opportunity to make a fantasy impact.

DEFENSEMEN

Johnny Boychuk, NYI at CAR ($9,500): Since returning from a lengthy injury absence, Boychuk has played in four games. While he's only picked up one point, he's also notched 11 shots on goal and three blocked shots. On the season, he has 151 shots on goal and 129 blocked shots in 63 games. In his last 17 games, Carolina's Cam Ward has a 2.99 GAA and a .900 save percentage, so Boychuk should be able to contribute on both ends of the ice in this matchup.

Anton Stralman, TAM at TOR ($7,300): Since the All-Star break, the Maple Leafs have allowed 33.9 shots on goal per contest. On the other end of the ice, they've attempted 60.1 shots per 60 minutes, which is third most in the NHL. Stralman has put 122 shots on goal and blocked 92 shots in 70 games, but he's picked that up recently — in his last nine games, he has five points, 21 shots, and 16 blocked shots.
