DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

Sunday's slate consists of four games using DraftKings' new "Pick 'Em" format. Goalies aren't in play, so here are some skaters to consider for your lineup…

CENTER

Connor McDavid, EDM vs. DET: The Red Wings are starting Petr Mrazek on Sunday, and the 25-year-old Czech owns a target-worthy .901 save percentage and 3.06 GAA dating back to last season. In a small player pool, finding a way to fit McDavid into lineups is advised. He has found the scoresheet in 10 of 12 games for five goals, 16 points and 45 shots, after all.

John Tavares, NYI vs. COL: The Avalanche enter on the wrong end of a back-to-back road set allowing 3.31 goals per game and 12.7 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes at five-on-five (the fourth most in the league). It's a solid matchup for Tavares, who has posted three consecutive multi-point showings and five in his past six games.

Jonathan Drouin, MON at CHI: While the majority of Canadiens have struggled to score, Drouin has quietly collected two helpers, nine points and 25 shots through his past 10 games. He's locked into a top offensive role with an average 18:42 of ice time on the power play, which includes 4:23 on the power play. Additionally, the Blackhawks are allowing the fifth-most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (12.5) in the league.

WING

Johnny Gaudreau, CGY vs. NJD: The pint-sized winger has marked the scoresheet in 10 of 13 games this season for 16 points, and he has 35 goals and 97 points through his past 84 games at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Additionally, the Devils allowed six goals to Edmonton on Friday and enter this contest with 2.91 expected goals against per 60 minutes at five-on-five. Gaudreau is another high-end option to strongly consider.

Anders Lee, NYI vs. COL: As noted this checks out as a soft matchup for the Islanders, and Lee is cruising alongside John Tavares in all situations. The 27-year-old winger sports a seven-game point streak with six goals and seven helpers, and he also has three consecutive multi-point showings.

DEFENSE

Duncan Keith, CHI vs. MON: Both the Habs and Blackhawks won games Saturday, so this will be a tiring tilt for both clubs. Keith has continued to be a high-floor asset this season with eight helpers, 37 shots and 26 blocked shots through 14 games, and he's locked into a hefty role. The 34-year-old blueliner has averaged 25:25 of ice time per game this season with 4:22 on the power play.

Nick Leddy, NYI vs. COL: A value option on the blue line, Leddy has played well of late with six points, 17 shots and six blocked shots while averaging 22:26 of ice time (3:45 on the power play) through his past six contests. The defenseman stacks nicely with John Tavares and/or Nick Leddy, as all three skate on the No. 1 power-play unit.
