FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Mike Smith, CGY vs VAN ($7,900): After two disastrous starts, Smith bounced back by stopping 28 saves on 29 shots Wednesday. He's a solid home favorite in a matchup against the offensively-challenged Canucks, who have averaged 2.72 goals per game, the fourth-lowest mark in the league.

Center

Vincent Trocheck, FLA vs COL ($6,100): For just the second time since Nov. 19, Trocheck has seen his salary rise over $6,000, but he's still a value. Over his last three contests, Trocheck has notched two goals and four assists with 18 shots on goal. The Avalanche are allowing 3.33 goals a night, placing them 27th in the NHL. The Panthers have been scoring goals in bunches at home all season and I expect Trocheck to be a major part of the offense on Saturday.

Alexander Wennberg, CBJ vs ARI ($4,800): Wennberg is not having the season he posted last year, but he's been coming around of late and draws a great home matchup against the Coyotes. He tallied a goal last night against the Devils, just his second of 2017-18. And over the last four weeks, the Coyotes have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to center icemen. In a game that the Blue Jackets should score at will, expect Wennberg to be heavily involved.

Wing

Jeff Skinner, CAR at LA ($5,800): Skating on a line with Jordan Staal and Justin Williams, Skinner finds himself in a nice spot at a low salary to produce against the Kings. He has goals in two of his last three outings and 17 shots on goal over his last four. Skinner has always been a high-volume shooter – and that is no different this season, averaging 3.74 shots on goal. Even in a hostile road environment, Skinner should outperform his salary.

Nick Bjugstad, FLA vs COL ($3,800): Until recently, Bjugstad had predominantly been a center. Now skating on the first line with Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau, Bjugstad has slid in on the wing and has produced goals in two of his last three games. He's also seeing time on the top power-play unit and has racked up 15 shots on goal in his last four.

Alexander Radulov, DAL vs VGK ($6,200): The ever-steady Radulov continues to be underpriced relative to his recent production. He has notched double-digit fantasy points in three of his last four games with a goal, two assists, and 14 shots on goal over that span. The Stars offense hasn't been as dangerous as they were last season, but Radulov offers signifcant upside skating on the first line and top power-play unit. And the Golden Knights' D should be vulnerable, playing their second road game in as many nights.

Defense

Zach Werenski, CBJ vs ARI ($5,200): Werenski has recently been an offensive menace, with little-to-no salary increase. In his last five appearances, he has picked up three goals, one assist, and 26 shots on goal. The Coyotes have struggled defensively all season long, especially against defensemen. The floor Werenski provides is incredibly solid and his skating and scoring ability allow for tremendous upside.

Morgan Rielly, TOR at PIT ($4,700): The young puck-moving rearguard has bounced back in his last two after a seven-game pointless drought. During this time, he's chipped in with a goal and an assist with four shots on goal. His four goals and 15 assists on the season present a good value option against a Penguins side that has allowed fantasy production to defensemen all year long.
