Fanduel NHL: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

John Gibson, ANH vs. CGY ($8,000): Gibson faces Calgary playing their second road game in as many nights and has had success against them in the past. He's allowed two or less goals over his last five games against them and stopped 27 of 29 shots against in his last start against them in a tough-luck loss. He's posted a 2.78 goals against average this season to go along with a .921 save percentage. The problem for him has been getting enough offensive support on a consistent basis, but with the Ducks are as healthy as they've been all year, the offense should come to back him tonight.

Center

Bryan Little, WPG vs. NYI ($5,000): The Islanders have been an offensive force this season, but defending the center has plagued them throughout. They've allowed 39 goals and 64 assists to center icemen in 39 games this season and the most fantasy points to the position overall. They haven't made much improvement in this regard of late, as they've surrendered 12 goals and 25 assists to the position over their last 13 games. Little has points in three of his last four games and should continue to produce tonight.

Derick Brassard, OTT vs. CBJ ($5,400): The Blue Jackets are another team that has struggled with centers. Over their last four weeks, they've allowed the most fantasy points to the position, surrendering 14 goals and 32 assists over the 13-game stretch. Brassard has two goals and three assists in his last four games and four points in his last four games against Columbus.

Wing

Teuvo Teravainen, CAR vs. PIT ($4,900): Teravainen skates on the first line for Carolina and that unit has been productive of late. Teravainen has four points in his last two games with a total of eight shots on goal over that span. With three wins in a row, the Hurricanes are playing well, and Teravainen should hit value tonight and sees some upside skating on the top power-play unit where he has three goals and six assists this season.

Kyle Connor, WPG vs. NYI ($4,200): With Mark Scheifele out for the next six to eight weeks, Connor will look to pick up some of the slack on the first line for Winnipeg. He has points in back to back games and 11 goals to go along with 10 assists this season. He'll be skating with Blake Wheeler centering and Patrik Laine on the opposite wing; two guys who give Connor ample opportunity to produce going forward.

Mikael Granlund, MIN vs. NSH ($6,200): It was around this time last year that Granlund took off and starting scoring points seemingly every night. From December 29th through February 4th last season, a 16-game span, Granlund recorded 23 points and saw his salary as high as $7,200. He has a goal and an assist in his last game and could be on the cusp of taking off again. The matchup with the Predators has been a good one for him, as he has three goals and four assists in his last six games against them.

Defense

Jacob Trouba, WPG vs NYI ($4,600): Trouba has been a bit cold of late with just two points in his last five games, but the matchup with the Islanders might be just what he needs to get back onto the scoresheet. The Islanders have allowed the most fantasy points to defensemen over the last four weeks with 15 goals and 27 assists surrendered over the 13-game span. He's seeing a lot of ice time and power play minutes on the top unit, and with 12 defensemen priced higher than he tonight, Trouba sticks out as a great value on the blue line.

Justin Faulk, CAR vs PIT ($4,300): Faulk has finally woken up with points in each of his last three games and 11 shots on goal over that span. He had a goal in his last game against the Penguins and stands out as a top option tonight for a Carolina team that relies on a lot of production from their blue line.
