FantasyDraft NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

FantasyDraft NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

GOALIE

Detroit Red Wings, DET vs. DAL ($14,000): Over his last 11 games, Jimmy Howard has a 2.17 GAA and a .934 save percentage. The Wings are also getting the Stars on the second night of a back-to-back. It's also good for Detroit that the Stars will be on the road for this one.

CENTER

Mika Zibanejad, NYR vs. PHI ($13,100): It took Zibanejad a little time to find his footing after returning from injury, but in his last five games he has three goals and 18 shots on net. On the season, he's averaged 3:17 per game with the extra man, notching 12 points in 35 games. That's a good sign heading into this matchup, as the Flyers have the 28th-ranked penalty kill.

Nico Hischier, NJD at NYI ($12,000): The No. 1 pick from last year's draft has started 60.2 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, most of any New Jersey forward. Hischier has also picked up his scoring recently, with seven points in his last nine tilts. The Islanders have the worst team GAA in the league and are on the second of a back-to-back set.

WING

Clayton Keller, ARI vs. SAN ($11,400): The Sharks will be on the road for the second night of a back-to-back and have a poor 3.57 team GAA with no rest. After going through a rough patch, Keller has finally regained the footing that made him an early Calder Trophy favorite. In his last 12 games he has 11 points, including three on the power play. He's also started 59.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, tops on Arizona, which helps his fantasy potential.

Kyle Palmieri, NJD at NYI ($10,300): Palmieri has missed a chunk of time with injury, but when he's played he's averaged 13.36 fantasy points. Since returning to action, he's notched six points and 33 shots on net in 10 tilts.

Joonas Donskoi, SAN at ARI ($7,000): Donskoi has five points in his last two contests, including two goals and an assist against the Coyotes. That's worth noting, since the Sharks are squaring off with Arizona once again. You don't want to be influenced by one game too much, but if you like a bigger sample size the Coyotes have a 3.51 team GAA and a .891 team save percentage. At this price, it's worth seeing if Donskoi can stay hot.

DEFENSEMEN

Shayne Gostisbehere, PHI at NYR ($10,200): Gostisbehere seems to be over the illness that kept him out of Philly's last game, which is a good thing for fantasy players. The 24-year-old has 32 points in 39 games, including 10 in his last 11 tilts. He's also put 108 shots on net, and the Rangers have given up 34.2 shots on goal per contest.

Justin Braun, SAN at ARI ($6,700): Braun picked up an assist Monday, giving him 16 helpers on the season. He's also put 61 shots on net, but he only has a 1.7 shooting percentage that could easily improve. The Coyotes offer up a fantastic matchup, considering they have a 3.51 team GAA. Braun also has 80 blocked shots, so he could add a little fantasy value there.
