FantasyDraft NHL: Friday Values

FantasyDraft NHL: Friday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

The NHL doesn't seem interested in keeping you home Friday night, as there are only three games on the slate. However, that's enough tilts to let you play daily fantasy hockey, and here are some recommendations for your lineup.

GOALIE

Washington Capitals, WAS vs. MON ($16,100): The Capitals are on the second night of a back-to-back, but they should be OK. Washington is 18-6-0 at home, while the Canadiens are 7-13-1 on the road. Plus, Philipp Grubauer, who likely will get the start in this one, has a 2.60 GAA and a .916 save percentage. While Grubauer has been playing infrequently, in his last seven games he has a 1.33 GAA and a .957 save percentage.

CENTER

Vincent Trocheck, FLA vs. VGK ($13,300): The Golden Knights have been good defensively overall, but in this game they are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back. Vegas has a team GAA of 3.19 on the road, and a team GAA of 3.50 with zero days of rest. Trocheck, for his part, has 17 goals and 24 assists through 43 games, and he's also put 153 shots on net in that time.

Evgeny Kuznetsov, WAS vs. MON ($11,500): Kuznetsov has three points in his last four games, but more germane to this matchup is his power-play performance. The Russian has averaged 3:51 per game with the extra man, and he's tallied 14 points in that time. Montreal has the 26th-ranked penalty kill, which is something Kuznetsov can take advantage of.

WING

David Perron, VGK at FLA ($10,700): Perron notched his 10th goal of the season Thursday, but he's really been racking up the assists recently. With a helper in his last game, he now has nine assists in his last 12 contests to go with three goals. The Panthers have a team GAA of 3.21, and they've allowed a whopping 35.1 shots on net per contest.

Alex Galchenyuk, MON at WAS ($10,400): Galchenyuk has started 61.3 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, tops on the Canadiens. He's also been a force on the power play, as he's notched six goals and six assists with the extra man. The Capitals only rank 22nd in penalty-kill percentage, and it's unlikely for them to be better than usual on the second night of a back-to-back.

Alex Tuch, VGK at FLA ($8,300): It's a good day for guys named Alex, evidently. As previously noted, the Panthers have given up 35.1 shots on net per tilt. Tuch has put 94 shots on net through 40 games. He should get the chance to put some more pucks on goal and, with Florida having a 3.21 team GAA, perhaps he will light the lamp as well.

DEFENSEMEN

Keith Yandle, FLA vs. VGK ($9,200): Despite being 31, Yandle has averaged a career-high 24:45 per game this season. He's notched 20 assists, and in his last four games he's tallied 15 shots on net. The Golden Knights are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back and, as was mentioned earlier, Vegas has been decidedly worse both away from how and on zero days of rest. That makes this game a real double whammy for them.

Shea Theodore, VGK at FLA ($8,800): Theodore had averaged 10.21 fantasy points per game before he had an assist, two shots on net, and two blocked shots against Tampa on Thursday. He's been putting more pucks on net recently, and now he gets to go up against a Panthers team that has allowed the most shots on goal per game this year. Additionally, in his last five games, James Reimer has a 3.46 GAA and a .894 save percentage.
