FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Cam Talbot, EDM vs VAN ($7,800): Talbot went through a bit of a rough patch earlier this month by going winless in four straight starts and getting pulled in two of them. In this matchup, he's a good value with the Oilers heavy home favorites against the lackluster Canucks, who average just 2.64 goals per game. Talbot has only allowed seven goals in his last five starts against Vancouver, which includes two shutouts. He should be able to carry momentum from his last appearance Saturday, where he stopped 34 shots in a road victory against the Golden Knights.

Center

Paul Stastny, STL vs ARI ($5,800): Stastny will look to continue his productive play tonight against the Coyotes. Arizona has allowed centers to accumulate 16 goals and 23 assists over their last 11 contests. Stastny, who skates on the first line and top power-play unit, has points in six of his last seven, with three goals and six assists over that span.

Tyler Bozak, TOR at OTT ($4,400): The Senators have really struggled against center icemen, especially over their last ten games by allowing 17 goals and 17 assists. Bozak has notched points in three of his last five on a line with James van Riemsdyk and Mitch Marner, a trio that proved to be among the best last season. He has six points in his last eight against the Senators, averaging 11 fantasy points per game during that stretch.

Wing

Brandon Saad, CHI vs NYI ($5,900): The matchup couldn't be better for Saad, as he looks to break a minor slump. He hasn't scored a point in his last five contests, but has been involved by averaging 3.6 shots on goal per game. Saad is long overdue and faces an Islanders side that have allowed the most fantasy points – 14 goals and 20 assists – over the last four weeks.

Ondrej Palat, TB at MIN ($5,600): Palat is one of the many scoring options the Lightning regularly deploy and he's always inexpensive. The second-line winger has points in each of his last five games, with a goal and five assists. On top of this, the Wild have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to left wingers over the last four weeks.

Alexander Steen, STL vs ARI ($5,600): Steen is often overlooked on the Blues, who boast talent like Vladimir Tarasenko, Alex Pietrangelo, and others. Steen has been incredibly consistent of late, with six points in his last six contests. He has accumulated at least 20 fantasy points in four of those last six, which provides significant upside and easy payoff at this salary.

Defense

Torey Krug, BOS at MTL ($5,400): Krug has notched points in back-to-back games and has struck for three points in his last four against the Canadiens, who have struggled versus defensemen by giving up the seventh-most fantasy points to the position over the last four weeks. Krug sees an uptick skating on the top power-play unit, where he has scored a goal and six assists this season.

Jake Gardiner, TOR at OTT ($4,100): Gardiner draws a favorable matchup against Ottawa, who have allowed nine goals and 22 assists to defensemen over their last ten games. Gardiner's scoring potential is improved by skating on the power play and he's a nice pivot down from teammate Morgan Rielly, whose salary is much higher.
