FantasyDraft NHL: Saturday Values

FantasyDraft NHL: Saturday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

Snow is pouring where I am, so there's nothing better to do than relax and enjoy some NHL hockey. There are nine games Saturday night. Here are some players for your daily fantasy lineups.

GOALIE

Toronto Maple Leafs, TOR vs. OTT ($16,700): The Maple Leafs are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, while the Senators are 7-14-4 on the road. Ottawa has also only scored 2.62 goals per game, while allowing 3.34 (which increases Toronto's chances of picking up a win). Frederik Andersen has a 2.64 GAA and a .922 save percentage, so he should handle Ottawa's meager offense with ease.

CENTER

Tomas Hertl, SAN vs. EDM ($10,400): Hertl has averaged 2:50 per game with the extra man, tallying 12 power-play points (including six goals) in 54 games. That bodes well, as the Oilers have the league's worst penalty kill. And because Edmonton is on the road for the second night of a back-to-back, this matchup is even more in Hertl's favor.

Derek Stepan, ARI vs. PHI ($8,900): If nothing else, Stepan has had success on the power play. He's played 2:39 per game and notched 12 points with the extra man in 54 games. Additionally, he has a career-low 6.8 shooting percentage, so there could be more luck coming his way. The Flyers have the 29th-ranked penalty kill, which Stepan should be able to take advantage of.

WING

Mikko Rantanen, COL at CAR ($11,100): Rantanen has started 57.9 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, most among Colorado's regular forwards. The 21-year-old has 50 points in 52 games, including nine points in his last nine games. The Hurricanes are on the second night of a back-to-back, and even if they are at home this is still a team with a 2.98 GAA.

Kyle Palmieri, NJD at CLM ($10,900): Palmieri has six points in his last five games, and though he's played in only 34 games this season he has 13 power-play points. The Blue Jackets have the 27th-ranked penalty kill, and Columbus is on the second night of a back-to-back. Even if Sergei Bobrovsky gets the start, Palmieri's power-play acumen makes him an interesting option.

Jake DeBrusk, BOS vs. BUF ($8,300): DeBrusk has started a whopping 68.5 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, and he's put 104 shots on net in 48 games. The rookie has also notched four points in his last six games. Meanwhile, the Sabres have a 3.28 GAA, fourth highest in the NHL, and allow 32.6 shots on net per game.

DEFENSEMEN

Shayne Gostisbehere, PHI at ARI ($12,400): Gostisbehere has 40 points in his last 50 games, including seven in his last four. He's also averaged 3:53 per game with the extra man, tallying 21 points. Although Antti Raanta has helped make things a little better for the Coyotes in net, Arizona still has a 3.43 GAA.

Jake Gardiner, TOR vs. OTT ($9,900): Gardiner has 13 points in his last 10 games, even though his 3.4 shooting percentage is the lowest of his career (excluding a season wherein he played only 12 games). The Senators have a 3.34 GAA, third most in the NHL, and allow 33.3 shots on net per contest as well. They also have the 28th-ranked penalty kill, and Gardiner has nine power-play points.
