DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Andrei Vasilevskiy, TB vs. LA ($8,000): The Kings enter on the second leg of a back-to-back road set while generated just 9.69 high-danger scoring chances per game and owning a 2.18 expected goals per 60 minutes away from the STAPLES Center. Vasilevskiy, meanwhile, is 17-3-1 at home with a respectable .915 save percentage. Expect a strong showing from the young Russian.

CENTER

Ryan Johansen, NAS at MON ($5,700): It'll be important to check the line combinations, but with Filip Forsberg eligible to return from a three-game suspension, Johansen's upside climbs if he skates with his frequent linemate. The duo have combined for 5.21 goals per 60 minutes this season, and Carey Price has lost eight of his past 10 starts with an underwhelming .890 save percentage and 3.10 GAA.

Elias Lindholm, CAR vs. COL ($4,100): The Avs have been treading water at 2-2 with Nathan MacKinnon (shoulder) out, but Colorado's goals-against trend had been moving in the wrong direction even before the star's injury at 3.43 goals per contest through the past seven. Enter an affordable Lindholm, who should also feature low ownership. He's now marked the scoresheet in consecutive games with seven shots on net, and the 23-year-old Swede projects to continue skating with the No. 1 power-play unit.

WING

William Nylander, TOR vs. OTT ($6,000): The 21-year-old winger has found a nice offensive groove with seven goals, 13 assists and 50 shots through his past 22 outings. Nylander has combined with center Auston Matthews for an impressive 4.69 goals per 60 minutes, and the Senators have won just three of their past 20 road games while allowing 3.42 goals and 13.88 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes since their mid-November slide began.

Yanni Gourde, TB vs. LA ($5,200): Up to 20 goals and 20 assists for the campaign, Gourde is now skating on the No. 1 line with Steven Stamkos and Tyler Johnson. It's an intriguing trio, and Gourde enters with six goals, 10 points and 18 shots through his past eight outings. The Kings are also playing their second road game in consecutive nights, so it shouldn't be a daunting matchup.

Ryan Spooner, BOS vs. BUF ($4,800): Buffalo is allowing a healthy 3.36 goals per road game while killing penalties at just 74.7 percent away from the KeyBank Center, so this sets up as a solid spot for Spooner. The winger skates with the No. 1 power-play unit and has collected a respectable 2.84 points per 60 minutes for the campaign. This is also a manageable salary.

DEFENSE

P.K. Subban, NAS at MON ($6,400): Narrative rarely factor into the analysis in this space, but with Nashville losers of consecutive road games, it would shocking if Subban wasn't a force against his former club. He's collected eight goals, 18 points and 55 shots through his past 17 contests, and as noted, Carey Price and the Habs have been struggling.

Jakob Chychrun, ARI vs. PHI ($3,300): Expect Chychrun to complement his cap relief with a low ownership percentage against Philadelphia. The sophomore defenseman has gone six games without a point, but he's also been skating with the No. 1 power-play unit and has shown offensive prowess in the past.  His 1.09 points per 60 minutes at five-on-five ranked 14th among all defenseman with at least 750 minutes last season, so there's potential here.
