FanDuel NHL: Thursday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Thursday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Robin Lehner, BUF at OTT ($7,500): Against the Senators, Lehner is 3-0-0 in his last three starts with a 1.33 GAA and an average of 38 shots faced per contest. Ottawa is 25th in the league with a lowly 2.64 goals per game and have lost six of their last 10. Lehner's salary provides a ton of flexibility and upside.

Center

Ryan O'Reilly, BUF at OTT ($6,500): In the two games since Jack Eichel went down with an ankle injury, O'Reilly has stepped up with a goal and two assists in each contest while firing 11 shots on net. The Senators have allowed the most fantasy points to centers over the last four weeks with an astonishing 22 goals and 33 assists surrendered over the 13-game span. 11 of O'Reilly's 43 points have come on the power play, also.

Brayden Point, TB vs DET ($5,700): After a four-game scoreless drought, Point has bounced back with a points in back-to-back games and seven shots on goal over the two contests. Detroit comes in allowing 3.00 GPG and has surrendered 16 goals and 23 assists to centers over its last 11 games. The Alberta native has been an asset on Tampa Bay's second-ranked power play with seven points and could see that total increase against Detroit's 24th-ranked penalty kill.

Wings

Sam Reinhart, BUF at OTT ($5,000): Reinhart has three goals and five assists over his last five games. Ottawa has allowed 3.44 GPG, which is 30th in the NHL, and six goals in each of its last two games. Reinhart has roughed up the Senators with four goals, three assists, and 25 shots on net over their last nine matchups. The fourth-year NHLer has recorded 29 points — 13 of which have come on the power play. Reinhart will look to increase his proficiency with the man advantage by exploiting Ottawa's 29th-ranked penalty kill.

Timo Meier, SJ vs VAN ($4,700): The ninth-overall pick of the 2015 draft has recorded a point in four of his last six games with three goals, two assists, and 18 shots on goal over that span. Meier has averaged 2.59 shots on goal per game and is in a good spot against Vancouver, which is playing its second game in as many nights.

Anders Lee, NYI vs NYR ($6,700): Lee has a goal in three of the last four matchups with the Rangers and should benefit from the fact they've allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to left wingers over the last month. The fifth-year pro is averaging 7.11 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes this year, the third-highest mark in the league.

Defense

Jaccob Slavin, CAR at NJ ($4,200): Slavin is riding a three-game point streak with a goal and two assists over that stretch. The Devils have surrendered the third-most fantasy points to defensemen over the last month, including the most goals (10) allowed in the league over a 13-game span. Slavin offers value in the blocked-shot department, averaging 2.11 blocks per game and of late has been more aggressive on the offensive end, averaging 2.5 shots over his last six.

Rasmus Ristolainen, BUF at OTT ($4,900): Ristolainen has points in four straight games and has averaged over 26 minutes of ice time over that span. With the blueliner seeing 3:31 of power-play time per contest and 14 of his 26 points coming on the power play, Ristolainen is just another player that should exploit Ottawa's aforementioned poor penalty kill.
