DraftKings NHL: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK vs. LA ($8,400): The Flames enter this contest following consecutive home losses, so this should set up as a favorable spot for the Golden Knights. Vegas is 22-5-2 at T-Mobile Arena, and Fleury has also been strong at home with a .926 save percentage and 2.12 GAA. In a shallow goalie pool, Fleury could also fly under the radar with others chasing low salaries at this position.

CENTER

Jonathan Toews, CHI vs. OTT ($5,800): The veteran has been more reliable of late with scoresheet appearances in seven of his past 12 games for nine points and 37 shots. Toews continues to log big minutes, and his 3.8 shooting percentage through his past 18 contests has positive regression ahead. Additionally, the Sens are 3-17-3 with 3.71 goals and 13.55 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes allowed on the road since their mid-November slide.

Matt Duchene, OTT at CHI ($5,500): The center has shown a significant uptick in offensive through his past 20 games with eight goals, 13 assists and 52 shots. He's also combined with current linemate Mike Hoffman for 4.19 goals per 60 minutes, and the Blackhawks have surrendered 3.15 goals and 12.06 high-danger scoring chances per hour through their past 25 games -- both bottom-10 marks in the league.

WING

Jonathan Marchessault, VGK vs. CGY ($7,200): It's been a boom-or-bust stretch for Marchessault lately, as he's posted four multi-point showings through his past eight outings but also missed the scoresheet entirely in three of those games. He boasts an elite 1.32 goals and 3.43 points per 60 minutes at home this season, and Calgary's David Rittich sports an .890 save percentage through four starts since Mike Smith sustained a lower-body injury.

Mike Hoffman, OTT at CHI ($6,200): A stack candidate with center Matt Duchene, Hoffman has recorded four tallies, five helpers and 26 shots through his past 10 contests. As noted, it's a favorable matchup against Chicago, and there's potential this is the highest-scoring game from the slate.

Mattias Janmark, DAL at ANA ($3,800): Projected to skate with Tyler Seguin on the No. 1 line, Janmark checks out as a low-priced target who still offers upside. The winger recorded five shots in his most recent outing and scored in the game prior, so the recent results are also encouraging.

DEFENSE

Erik Karlsson, OTT at CHI ($6,300): As noted, there's nothing scary about a date with the Blackhawks, and Karlsson has posted solid numbers of late with 10 points, 31 shots and 23 blocked shots through his past 11 contests. He also averaged 25:52 of ice time during that stretch with 2:27 on the power play, so he offers a high-floor, high-ceiling combo that carries even more value considering the shallow player pool.

Duncan Keith, CHI vs. OTT ($4,600): Despite logging 23:26 of ice time -- 1:18 with the man advantage -- through his past nine games, Keith has just a single goal during that stretch. He's somewhat buoyed his value with 23 shots and 21 blocked shots, but his salary has still dipped into profit territory. With the noted favorable matchup against the Sens, Keith is worth a look as a piece of a potential Blackhawks stack.
