FantasyDraft NHL: Thursday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

March is here, and with it comes seven NHL games. To try and help you kick off a new month right, here are some players I recommend for your daily fantasy lineup.

GOALIE

Philadelphia Flyers, PHI vs. CAR ($16,400): Here are two teams headed in opposite directions. The Flyers have won six in a row, while the Hurricanes have lost six straight. Carolina has also only scored 2.60 goals per game. Since Petr Mrazek has been with the Flyers, he's posted a 1.30 GAA and a .947 save percentage. Those numbers will likely regress, but they're still encouraging.

CENTER

Derek Stepan, ARI vs. MIN ($11,800): The Wild have a 3.43 team GAA in away games, which is bottom-five in the NHL. Stepan has tallied nine points in his last 10 games and has also been shooting the puck more recently. He has 15 shots on net in his last three contests.

Ryan Johansen, NAS at EDM ($11,200): Johansen has a three-game point streak, and over his last seven games, he has seven points. Though the Oilers are at home, they have a 3.53 team GAA in Edmonton. They also have the league's worst penalty kill, and Johansen has tallied 12 power-play points in 59 games.

WING

Jonathan Huberdeau, FLA vs. NJD ($11,400): After a dry spell on the goal-scoring front, Huberdeau lit the lamp in his last outing. He has a three-game point streak that has helped give him 57 total points in 60 contests. Though Cory Schneider may be able to return for this game, the Devils are still a team with a 2.95 team GAA. Plus, in his last 11 games before his injury absence he had a 3.23 GAA and an .895 save percentage.

Craig Smith, NAS at EDM ($11,400): Smith has an impressive eight-game point streak going heading into this matchup with the Oilers. Edmonton has a 3.30 team GAA, third worst in the NHL, but it's been even worse recently. Since the All-Star break, the Oilers have a 3.71 team GAA with an .890 team save percentage. Don't be surprised to see Smith keep the point streak going.

Timo Meier, SAN vs. CHI ($9,900): Meier scored a goal and had a whopping nine shots in his last game. While that may not be the norm, he still has nine points and 36 shots on net in his last 13 contests. With Corey Crawford out, the Blackhawks have struggled in goal. Since the All-Star break, Chicago has a 3.23 team GAA and .890 team save percentage.

DEFENSEMEN

Shayne Gostisbehere, PHI vs. CAR ($12,400): Gostisbehere has 17 points in his last 13 games, giving him 40 points on the season. A whopping 25 of those have come with the extra man, as well. The Hurricanes have a 3.02 team GAA, which is bottom-10 in the league. On top of that, Cam Ward has struggled recently. In his last four games, he has a 3.48 GAA and .875 save percentage.

Sami Vatanen, NJD at FLA ($8,700): Vatanen has notched eight points, all assists, in his last nine games. However, he also has an 1.4 shooting percentage since joining the Devils, so some more puck luck could be on the way. The Panthers have a 3.20 team GAA and they've also allowed a whopping 34.7 shots on net per contest. Though the Finn isn't the most prolific shooter, this is a matchup he can take advantage of.
