FantasyDraft NHL: Thursday Values

FantasyDraft NHL: Thursday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

We're spoiled for choice Thursday, as there are 12 NHL games on the schedule. That means you have a bevy of options for your daily fantasy lineup, but here are some of the players I think look the best.

GOALIE

Boston Bruins, BOS vs. PHI ($): The Bruins are 23-7-4 at home, 7-3-0 in their last 10, and on a four-game win streak. On top of all that, the Flyers are playing their second game in as many nights. Boston has also played some stellar defense, posting a 2.52 GAA and allowing 29.1 shots on net per contest.

CENTER

Paul Stastny, WPG at NJD ($11,700): Stastny has five points in four games since joining the Jets, including two on the power play. Plus, with Mark Scheifele doubtful for this game, Winnipeg's newest center should see more minutes. The Devils have a 3.00 GAA since the All-Star break and Cory Schneider has struggled in his two starts since returning from injury.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, EDM vs. NYI ($10,600): Nugent-Hopkins has a point in both of his games since getting healthy, which is encouraging. However, what's really exciting is the matchup he's got here. The Islanders have a league-high 3.57 GAA and fittingly enough, they've also allowed the most shots per game in the league (35.7).

WING

Jonathan Huberdeau, FLA vs. MON ($12,500): Huberdeau has averaged career highs in minutes and power-play time, and it's paid off for him and the Panthers. The third-overall pick from 2011 has tallied 58 points in 64 games, including 16 on the power play. With Carey Price hurt and Antti Niemi banged up, Charlie Lindgren seems in line to start. If he does, it's worth noting he has a 3.59 GAA and an .888 save percentage in his last six games.

Josh Bailey, NYI at EDM ($12,000): Bailey has a three-game point streak, but there is one major reason to be in on him Thursday. He's averaged 3:03 per contest on the power play and tallied 28 points with the extra man in 63 games. The Oilers have the league's worst penalty kill. You can probably put the pieces together on that one.

J.T. Miller, TAM vs. NYR ($10,300): Over his last three games, Miller has five points and seven shots on net. Since the All-Star break, the Rangers have been sputtering, as in that time they have a 3.59 GAA and have given up 37.3 shots on goal per contest.

DEFENSEMEN

Zach Werenski, CLM vs. COL ($10,200): After a rough patch, Werenski has gotten back on the right track with four points in his last four games. Even with his dry spell, the sophomore still has 13 goals on 175 shots through 63 contests. The Avalanche have really struggled on the road, as they have a 3.48 GAA in away games.

Colin Miller, VGK at DET ($9,300): Miller has started 62.1 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest on the Golden Knights. He's also averaged 2:30 per game with the extra man and tallied 14 power-play points. Jimmy Howard has a 3.13 GAA and .901 save percentage in his last 16 games, and in Jared Coreau's one start this season, he allowed four goals on 16 shots and got yanked.
