DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Sunday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

John Gibson, ANA vs. NJD ($8,300): New Jersey enters with three consecutive road wins over Nashville, Vegas and Los Angeles, so facing the Ducks at the Honda Center in the second leg of a back-to-back set is a ripe letdown spot. Spending up for Gibson is an easier pill to swallow in a shallow goalie pool, and he's also won his past two starts while allowing just two goals on 62 shots.

CENTER

Ryan Getzlaf, ANA vs. NJD ($7,000): The veteran has marked the scoresheet in seven of his past eight games for two goals and 12 assists, and Getzlaf boasts a high-end 3.15 points per 60 minutes for the campaign. As noted, the Devils are also playing their second road game in consecutive days, which sets up as a favorable schedule spot for Getzlaf.

Bryan Little, WPG vs. DAL ($4,700): Projected to skate between Blake Wheeler and Kyle Connor, Little is a strong value lean. The two wingers have combined for 4.0 goals per 60 minutes this season, and Little collected a goal and an assist centering the two last time out. It also helps that Dallas is playing the fifth contest of its current six-game road trip and have lost the first four.

WING

Patrick Kane, CHI vs. STL ($6,900): The Blues will likely hand the starting reins to Ville Husso for his first career appearance or Carter Hutton (neck) following a four-game injury absence. Either way, this should be a soft matchup for Kane and the Blackhawks. The cerebral scorer has registered a point in 11 of his past 14 games for four goals, 12 assists and 47 shots, so he also enters in strong form.

Brandon Saad, CHI vs. STL ($5,000): Skating with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane on a new-look No. 1 line has provided a fantasy boost for Saad. The 25-year-old winger has registered a point in consecutive games, and the trio has combined for an impressive 18.08 high-danger scoring chances per hour.

Kyle Connor, WPG vs. DAL ($4,800): The rookie has scored three goals through his past two games and lands in the noted favorable matchup against Dallas. As mentioned, the Stars have lost the first four games of their current road trip, and Connor is receiving top-six looks and power-play time with the No. 1 unit.

DEFENSE

Dustin Byfuglien, WPG vs. DAL ($5,300): With Dallas in the midst of a slump and a long road trip, Byfuglien's salary looks short. He's collected 15 points, 50 shots and 22 blocked shots while logging 25:32 of ice time (2:37 on the power play) through his past 15 contests, so he also offers a rare high-floor, high-ceiling combo.

Cam Fowler, ANA vs. NJD ($4,900): Despite logging top-pairing minutes and skating on the No. 1 power-play unit, Fowler has failed to register a point in six consecutive games. With New Jersey ripe for a letdown showing, look for the 26-year-old defenseman to kick his current offensive funk and reward on his diminished salary.
