FanDuel NHL: Monday Playoff Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Monday Playoff Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

There are four Game 3s on Monday, and all the series are currently 2-0. Will one of those teams that are down earn a win? More importantly for daily fantasy players, which players might be good choices for your lineup? Here are my recommendations.

GOALIE

Martin Jones, SAN vs. ANA ($8,600): The Ducks only scored 2.56 goals per game on the road, 27th in the NHL. Meanwhile, the Sharks had a 2.59 GAA at home and only allowed 28.3 shots on net in those games. Plus, San Jose won the first two games of this series on the road, and heading home can't hurt.

CENTER

Brayden Point, TAM at NJD ($6,400): After tallying 32 goals and 34 assists this season, Point has three points to kick off the postseason. Keith Kinkaid took the starting goalie role from Cory Schneider despite a 2.77 GAA and .913 save percentage, but has not looked good in the playoffs. He's allowed nine goals on 46 shots. If they decide to turn back to Schneider it may not help much. He had a 2.93 GAA and .907 save percentage.

Nico Hischier, NJD vs. TAM ($5,300): Hischier started 60.4 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest among Devils forwards. The first-overall pick had 52 points this year, and he's already notched a point in this postseason. Tampa Bay had a 3.36 GAA after the All-Star break, and now this series is headed to New Jersey for Game 3.

WING

Viktor Arvidsson, NAS at COL ($6,400): Arvidsson had nine points in his last 10 regular season games, and he's notched a point in both postseason contests. He also excels at putting pucks on goal, as he tallied 246 shots last year and 247 this season. With Semyon Varlamov out, Jonathan Bernier is in goal for the Avalanche. In his last six games he has a 3.38 GAA and .899 save percentage.

Rick Nash, BOS at TOR ($6,100): Nash put 41 shots on net in 11 games with the Bruins after being acquired in a trade. He's looked fine returning from injury in the playoffs, as he has a goal and six shots in two games. Frederik Andersen has really struggled to start the postseason, but in truth his issues extend beyond that. In his last 14 outings he has a 3.81 GAA and .888 save percentage.

Alex Killorn, TAM at NJD ($4,200): Killorn is hot to start the playoffs, as he has three goals in two games, including two on the power play. However, his strong play extends beyond that, as he has eight points and 22 shots on net in his last seven contests. As previously noted, the Devils have struggled defensively in the postseason, and neither of their goalies has been strong recently.

DEFENSEMEN

Torey Krug, BOS at TOR ($6,200): Krug has been a big part of Boston's early postseason success. He already has five assists, four of which have come on the power play. During the regular season, the defenseman averaged 3:26 per game on the power play and notched 24 points with the extra man in 76 contests. In addition to Frederik Andersen's struggles, the Maple Leafs allowed 33.9 shots on net per game this year.

P.K. Subban, NAS at COL ($5,300): Subban actually set new personal bests in goals (16) and shots on net (207), and he has 10 points in his last 12 contests. The 28-year-old also averaged 3:05 per game on the power play and notched 25 points with the extra man. Colorado allowed 33.3 shots on net per contest, and Jonathan Bernier had a 2.85 GAA and .913 save percentage. Plus, as previously noted the 29-year-old has a 3.38 GAA and .899 save percentage in his last six starts.
