FanDuel NHL: Sunday/Monday Playoff Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Sunday is Mother's Day, but before you spend time with Mom, don't forget about your daily fantasy lineup. You will be choosing from players in action both Sunday and Monday, but there are only two series left, so every contest for now is the same four teams. Here are some lineup recommendations.

GOALIE

Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs. VGK ($8,000): All four goalies left have been impressive, but for whatever reason, Hellebuyck is $400 cheaper than the other three, despite the fact he had a 2.36 GAA and .924 save percentage this season. He will play at home in Game 2, and in Game 1 he earned a victory over the Golden Knights.

CENTER

Brayden Point, TAM vs. WAS ($6,600): Game 1 of this series was forgettable for Point, but he had seven points in five contests. During the regular season, he broke out with 32 goals and 34 assists. Meanwhile, the Capitals had a 3.29 GAA on the road this season, just outside the bottom 10.

Paul Stastny, WPG vs. VGK ($5,800): Stastny came into the Western Conference Finals hot, as he had 12 points in his previous eight contests. He kept the torrid pace going with a point in Game 1 of this series. Though Marc-Andre Fleury had played out of his mind until this series started, the Golden Knights had a 3.00 GAA on the road.

WING

Blake Wheeler, WPG vs. VGK ($7,500): Wheeler had three assists in Game 1, giving him his fifth multi-point game in his last eight contests. He's been hot for even longer than that, as since the start of April, he has 22 points in 16 games. After all, we're talking about a player who had 91 points, with 40 on the power play, this season. Though Marc-Andre Fleury has had a fantastic postseason, he allowed four goals on 26 shots in Game 1.

T.J. Oshie, WAS vs. TAM ($5,600): Oshie has eight power-play points in his last 12 games, including two in Game 1 of this series. In the regular season, he had 18 points with the extra man in 74 contests. That's particularly noteworthy in this matchup, as the Lightning had the 27th-ranked penalty kill this year.

Tyler Johnson, TAM vs. WAS ($5,300): Johnson has provided decent secondary scoring for the Lightning in the playoffs, picking up six points in 11 games. He's been active as well, as he's notched 32 shots on net. Braden Holtby has been great in the playoffs, but he had a 2.99 GAA and .907 save percentage. Plus, as previously noted, the Capitals had a 3.29 GAA on the road this year.

DEFENSE

John Carlson, WAS at TAM ($5,800): Carlson averaged 15.0 fantasy points per game this season, the most of any defenseman left in action. Despite that, he's not the most expensive defenseman available, which makes him feel like a value. That's especially true given how he's played in these playoffs. He has 12 points and 43 shots on net in 13 contests.

Shea Theodore, VGK at WPG ($4,600): The Golden Knights had a forgettable Game 1, but Theodore still had a notable game. He picked up an assist to go with three blocked shots. The defenseman came into the contest playing well already, as he had tallied 14 points and 61 shots on net in his previous 20 games.
