Durbin suffered the injury Thursday, when he was hit in the hand by a pitch. According to Foley, Durbin was able to take part in defensive work the same day he landed on the IL, but he was sporting a protective brace on his injured right hand. Durbin could secure a spot on the Yankees' Opening Day roster in 2025 due to Gleyber Torres not likely to be re-signed, reports Chris Kirschner of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Durbin has supporters within the front office, which should put him in a strong position next spring to secure the playing time likely to open up in 2025.
