2023 Fantasy Outlook
Woods showed promise last season as a rookie with 25 receptions on 40 targets for 312 yards and three touchdowns. After posting eight receptions for 98 yards in Week 12, it looked like he might even take over the top spot at tight end. However, he had just 10 receptions for 135 yards over the final five games. His late-season disappearance was in part due to shaky quarterback play but also due to the Colts continuing to divide up targets between Woods, Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson. Woods showed enough of a spark that perhaps the team can make him more of a focus in 2023, but the Colts took another tight end in the 2023 draft in fifth-rounder Will Mallory. Read Past Outlooks
Appears healthy after missed season
Woods (hamstring) looks healthy in a recent workout video he posted, according to James Boyd of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 third-round pick had a promising rookie season with 25 catches for 312 yards and three touchdowns on 40 targets while splitting TE snaps with Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson. There was some thought Woods would take on a larger role in second pro season, but then he injured his left hamstring in training camp and didn't get it right until the middle of the season, at which point his right hamstring started to bother him and kept him on injured reserve for the rest of the season. Woods is one of the tallest tight ends in the league (6-7) and ran a 4.61-second 40-yard dash at 259 pounds at the 2022 NFL Combine.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could excel in new offense
Woods should have a good chance of putting together strong numbers in new head coach Shane Steichen's offense during the 2023 season, James Boyd of The Athletic opines.
ANALYSIS
Woods opened his NFL career by posting a 25-312-3 line across 15 games after being selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. However, Boyd suggests the arrival of Steichen could propel Woods to an exponentially more productive campaign in 2023, considering the Colts' new head coach has always prioritized the tight end position in his scheme. If the targets that approach should yield are indeed there, the combination of Woods' 6-foot-7 frame and his speed should make him a constant mismatch all over the field.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Indianapolis selected Woods in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 73rd overall. His size jumps off the page at 6-foot-7 and 259 pounds with 34.5-inch arms but he can move, too. Woods ran an impressive 4.61 in the 40-yard dash at the combine and the film showed good movement skills for a player his size. He blossomed in the Virginia offense in 2021 after transferring over from Oklahoma State, catching 44 of 70 targets for 598 yards and eight touchdowns. With Jack Doyle's retirement, there's a path to Woods finding a role eventually, but Mo Alie-Cox and Kyle Granson project to be higher on the depth chart this season.
